Belonging to a House: Building Spirit and Leadership

At Tai Wānanga, our four Houses create vibrant internal communities where every student has a place to belong. Upon enrolment, taiohi are assigned to one of: Tai Nui, Tai Kaha, Tai Ariki, and Tai Manawa.

These Houses also serve as our school’s cleaning groups. Each house is rostered on to complete different aspects of the school cleaning schedule, fostering a sense of shared ownership and responsibility for our kura environment. This system is a vital platform for developing leadership skills, teamwork, kura identity, and community service among all our students.
